East Central College: Adult Education and Literacy

The Adult Education and Literacy program and East Central College focuses on High School Equivalence courses, English Education as a second language, and more for non-traditional students. Alice Whalen, the director of the program, asked me if I could help shoot some videos for their orientation since they couldn't get funding from the college directly to film them. I was more than happy to help.

The AEL program is staffed with caring, patient, and knowledgeable individuals who enjoy helping students reach their short-term and long-range goals.

We provide an initial intake, administer the appropriate level Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) test, create an individualized learning plan, and administer the appropriate post-test (TABE/Official HiSET® Practice Test) to the learner. We offer group classes and one-on-one instruction in reading, math, and writing. These services are free.
